All vehicle rentals in Newtownards are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which will be provided at the time of booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:

Booking and Payment Process

Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is crucial to inspect the vehicle thoroughly and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed at that moment. Ensure the vehicle is returned in the same condition it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your liability. It is important to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you have opted for extra insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of existing insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur fees, which will be detailed in your agreement.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Any unlawful purpose or activity is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in other risky behaviors. The transportation of hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting to unauthorized individuals or permitting unapproved drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. Vehicles must only be used for their intended purposes, and passenger or weight limits must not be exceeded. Operating the vehicle outside the designated geographical areas requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by Northern Irish law, Car Hire Newtownards will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland. Any disputes will be resolved in the jurisdiction of local courts.
